Abstract Window 1

December 8th, 2008 by karynlewis

As many of you already know, in addition to illustration, I love fine art. I especially love to tinker around in Photoshop and create digital abstract paintings. I try to make the paintings successful in their own right, but these pieces are also wonderful learning exercises in making Photoshop brushes and exploring textures. I try to simulate paint to a certain extent, but because I’m painting digitally, I also exploit the tricks Photoshop has to offer.

I began this piece last year and stalled out on it. It wasn’t coming together. I picked it back up again the other day, and after drastically changing the colors (adding that dark purplish area) it started to come together.

Prints in a variety of sizes are available at my Zazzle Gallery.
