New painting: Dawn Beach Lattice
Another new abstract painting. I created this one with colors that reminded me of the beach, although, not literally. Like the rest of the abstracts in my “lattice” series, this painting was created digitally. I started in Photoshop with a canvas that was 10×8 inches and laid down a mix of tans and aquas with custom brushes. Over that I picked a couple of custom brushes that were made from photos of bricks and randomly stamped them into a grid, or ‘lattice’ which I then added color too, trying for a harmonious balance. I used texture on my brushes to try and achieve a traditional paint feel to the image, and when I was happy, I flattened the canvas and overlaid it with more texture scans. The final result is below, and it’s available in my Zazzle store on a variety of products.
