November 28th, 2008 by karynlewis

Another practice piece in black and white. This time I used reference from Skydancer-Stock. Total time about 4 hours…is that still considered speedy?

I’m not happy with the light & dark balance, and I should have taken the time to finish his hair. But it’s just for practice so I didn’t want to kill myself.

Tools used: Photoshop CS3/Wacom.

I like this one a lot. Maybe it’s because I don’t come from so much of a fantasy base, but I see this and my first impression is of a homeless man who may have a very interesting story to tell.
